Edwards celebrates anniversary with two new appointments
After the company’s most successful year yet, Edwards Employment Solutions is celebrating its third anniversary with two new appointments.
The new appointments represent a complete reversal of fortunes compared to March 2020 and the start of the pandemic. Izabella Edwards, Managing Director said she had to ‘rebuild the business’ from a low position at the beginning of the first lockdown but pushed on with the help of their loyal customers.
She added: “It was a scary time, as I’m sure it has been for a lot of businesses. Luckily, we have some loyal customers, a number of which operate in essential/key-worker industries, so with a lot of hard work throughout 2020 and 2021 we have re-built the business to pre pandemic levels.
“A big contract win mid 2020, together with a number of new client wins since, has allowed us to expand our team, and continue with our ambitious growth plans.”
Last year the business made four new appointments and, cementing its ongoing growth and success in 2021, Edwards Employment Solutions has welcomed two new recruits to the team on its third anniversary.
Senior Recruitment Consultant Dan Townsend brings 10-years’ experience in recruitment to the role. Dan was one of Edwards Employment Solutions very first employees when it launched in May 2018 then left in December 2019 for a sales role. However, he has returned to his first love – recruitment and a stronger and better Edwards Employment Solutions.
He said: “Having a break from recruitment made me realise what a fast moving and interesting industry it is. The variety of the job is what makes it exciting – no two days are ever the same. I love the fact that I am able to help people literally at their wits end. It’s a great feeling!”
Tim Nixon joins the business alongside Dan. He started out his career at Markerstudy where he was employed for over seven years within its busy contact centre. His hands-on experience in the sector positions him ideally to assist Edwards Employment Solutions’ call centre clients and candidates.
Tim said: “I love the fact that I am able to network, albeit virtually, in my new role and build relationships with both clients and candidates.”
Over the last three years, Edwards Employment Solutions has helped 1000s of local people secure employment with over 500 placed in permanent roles and over 2,500 in weekly assignments.
Izabella praised the support that the business has received to enable it to thrive in the pandemic. She said: “The Government grants and CBILS have been a huge support for Edwards, not only giving the company breathing space in those early lockdown days, but also enabling it to move forward with some investment in the front and back-office infrastructure.
“We have implemented a new CRM system - which includes our Candidate Portal, which enables people looking for work to register on our website then log in and update their own profiles with their current job preferences. This means we can market our vacancies more quickly to our registered candidates and also market our available candidates to local employers at the click of a button.
“We’ve also had a fresh new website as well as a complete brand refresh, which I think have both been instrumental in our success over the last 12 months.”
The company is now on the look-out for more team members and is particularly keen to hear from young people who would like to get their foot on the career ladder in the recruitment sector with the government’s Kickstart Scheme.
