Forklift Service Engineer

Location: Home-based or factory-based (Clowne, Chesterfield)
Salary: 35k Plus DOE
Hours: Standard weekday hours (no weekend or evening callouts)
Holidays: 24 days + bank holidays

The Role

A new opportunity has arisen for a Forklift Service Engineer, who can be based either at home or from the company’s factory in Clowne, Chesterfield (S43 4AB). Using a company van, the Engineer will travel to customer sites across the UK to maintain and repair the company’s own fleet of forklifts. While the role can be performed from anywhere, candidates living near the Clowne site are preferred. Full training and support will be provided, although the successful candidate will be expected to meet deadlines from the outset and uphold the company’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend breakdowns and carry out on-site repairs

  • Complete preventative maintenance on customer forklifts

  • Perform Thorough Examinations

  • Follow all RAMS and safety procedures while on site

  • Liaise with site managers and equipment operators as needed

  • Work with the parts department to maintain correct stock levels in the company van

  • Ensure accurate reporting and communication with the service team
     

Candidate Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical engineering and diagnostic skills

  • Experience working on forklifts, agricultural machinery or industrial trucks

  • Knowledge of hydro-electrical systems

  • Computer literacy

  • Strong verbal, written and visual communication skills

  • Willingness to learn and expand existing skills

  • Full UK driving licence
