We are currently recruiting for a Legal Secretary, to join the team at our client, based in Nottingham.

They are a highly regarded legal practice with modern offices in Nottingham city centre. The firm offers a friendly, professional working environment and is committed to providing excellent service to clients, alongside genuine support and development for their employees.

The Role – Legal Secretary

As a Legal Secretary in the Commercial Property and Corporate department, you will provide essential administrative and typing support, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

Your duties will include:

  • Audio and copy typing using the BigHand digital dictation system

  • Producing legal documents and case file notes with a high degree of accuracy

  • General administrative support including filing, document formatting and correspondence

  • Handling client queries via telephone and in person

  • Supporting fee earners and the wider legal team with organisational tasks

 

The Candidate - Legal Secretary

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Methodical and organised approach to work

  • Ability to manage tasks under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Professional and approachable, with a strong team ethic

Must have:

  • Experience with audio typing (legal environment preferred but not essential)

  • Proficiency in MS Word and general IT literacy

  • Solid English language skills – grammar, spelling and formatting

Desirable:

  • Prior experience working in a legal firm

  • Familiarity with BigHand digital dictation or similar systems
