Edwards Employment Solutions are recruiting for a Purchasing Assistant for a 3 months contract, based in Chesterfield. This is a very exciting opportunity for a candidate with at least a year’s buying experience to join a very successful business who are going through a sustained period of growth. The Purchasing Assistant will play a key role in the sourcing of commodities in line with the business needs.
Key duties of the Purchasing Assistant:
- Processing Purchase Orders for all indirect business spend
- Working with the Indirects Procurement Manager to manage the procurement needs of the business
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and liaising with relevant stakeholders to achieve them
- Engaging with suppliers to achieve efficiencies within the supply chain
- Supporting the procurement manager with tenders and projects
- Continuously liaising with different departments across the business to assess and manage demand
- Participating in Supplier Management activities including KPI reporting
- Taking responsibility for Procurement Data Reporting
Required skills & Experience:
- The successful Buyer will have at least 1 years buying experience
- Excellent communication skills are essential in this role as you will be interacting with various stakeholders - both internal and external
- You will have a customer-focused approach to and be highly motivated to deliver the best service
- ERP/ MRP experience / knowledge would be beneficial
- You will be computer literate including MS suit
- Meticulous with excellent attention to detail
Location- Chesterfield
Salary- £20,000-22,000

Job Type – Full Time, 3 Month Contract
Hours – Mon- Fri 9am – 5pm
