Due to expansion and an internal promotion, we are recruiting for a Production Manager, who is experienced in manufacturing and precision engineering within the Aerospace industry, to join our Nottinghamshire based Aerospace client.
They are experiencing a period of significant growth, so a committed, strong leader is required in order to drive the Production team to achieve their ambitious targets. The team will require robust support as they navigate through the exciting business and cultural changes, and the Production Manager will also need to inspire the company's Vision, Mission, Values from the shop floor to the boardroom as they identify and achieve the strategic priorities of the business.

Key Deliverables in the role of Production Manager
With 6 direct reports (Supervisors/Team Leader) and over 50 indirect reports over 2 shifts (days/nights), the key deliverables for the Production Manager will be:

Achieving high standards and on-time delivery of all orders
-
Driving the businesses ‘right first time’, promoting quality

Proactive problem solving and improvement methodologies
-
Measurement, monitoring and improvement of performance (Eg. RFT, OTIF, Dwell, Throughput, Late to Stars, Attendance and Productivity)
-
The successful execution of short and long term business plans
-
Delivery of budgets and operational goals
-
Human Resource Management - recruitment, employee relations, people development and performance management
Technical Skill & People Skills Required
-
Previous experience within a similar aerospace/precision engineering & manufacturing role
-
Experienced operations leader in precision engineering/machine shop environment
-
Knowledge of regulatory/compliance in an aerospace environment, specifically the AS9100 quality systems
-
Degree in relevant manufacturing engineering discipline
-
Familiar with short-interval KPI’s
-
Strong understanding of CI methodologies; 8D, Kaizen and Six Sigma
-
Ability to lead, motivate, direct and engage people to high performance
-
Change management experience, people and processes
-
Strong communication and advocacy skills, promoting employee engagement
