Machine Operator
Chesterfield | £26,000 – £28,000 DOE | Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:00pm | Permanent
This is a hands-on and varied Machine Operator position where you’ll be involved across the manufacturing process, from raw materials through to the finished product. If you enjoy seeing the outcome of your work and take pride in what you produce, this could be a great fit.
The Business
Our client is a well-established manufacturer based in Chesterfield, specialising in security and access solutions. Their products are used across homes, commercial buildings, and public sector environments such as schools and hospitals.
They’ve built a reputation for quality, practical problem-solving, and a supportive team environment.
The Role
You’ll be based on-site in the machine shop, joining a skilled team where full training is provided. Over time, you’ll gain a broad understanding of how products are made from start to finish.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Working with wood and metal using hand tools and CNC machinery
- Manufacturing parts to specification
- Learning assembly processes to create finished products
- Supporting the wider production team to maintain quality and efficiency
It’s a varied role where you’ll be involved in more than just one stage of production.
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need to know everything from day one—attitude and willingness to learn are key.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Experience using hand tools or machinery
- A background in manufacturing, production, or a similar environment
- A practical mindset with good attention to detail
- An interest in developing new skills
