An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quarry Plant Operative to join a growing quarry and production operation near Matlock.
This is an opportunity to become part of a developing operation where you’ll work with modern, heavy-duty machinery and gain a range of industry-recognised skills and qualifications.
We’re looking for someone who wants more than just a job. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across plant operation, production and quarrying, with full training provided.
The Role
As a Quarry Plant Operative, you’ll be involved in the safe and efficient running of production and quarry operations.
Your responsibilities will include:

Operating and monitoring heavy-duty production machinery.

Driving and manoeuvring articulated lorries around the site.

Monitoring machinery and production processes.

Identifying and reporting equipment faults or operational issues.

Following all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Helping to improve production efficiency and working practices.
Training & Progression
You don’t need to have every qualification or ticket before you start.
Full training will be provided, including the relevant courses and tickets required for the role.
Your first six weeks will be worked on day shifts, giving you the opportunity to learn the site, machinery, procedures and processes before moving onto the full rotational shift pattern.
Training will continue for approximately four months, with an increase in pay following successful completion of the required training.

Previous experience in quarrying, aggregates, construction, manufacturing, agriculture, production, engineering, logistics or heavy plant would be advantageous, but full training will be provided.
A full UK driving licence is essential due to the location and requirements of the role.

This is an outdoor, hands-on role and you will be required to work in all weather conditions. The role involves working around heavy machinery, mobile plant, large vehicles and industrial production equipment.
Full PPE, training and appropriate safety procedures will be provided.
The operation is closed on Christmas Day. Bank holiday working may be required, with time off in lieu provided where applicable.
