Temp to Perm Opportunity
A specialist engineering and infrastructure company based in Chesterfield is looking to recruit a reliable and hardworking Stores Person to join their busy operational team on a temp-to-perm basis.
This is a varied and hands-on role within a specialist environment supporting projects across rail, infrastructure, construction and engineering sectors throughout the UK.
The role would suit someone who enjoys practical work, likes staying active throughout the day and is looking for a long-term opportunity within a stable and growing business.
Duties Include:
- Picking and preparing materials and equipment
- Booking stock in and out
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Moving heavy and awkward items safely
- Organising and maintaining stores and yard areas
- Assisting with stock checks and inventory control
- Cleaning and preparing returned equipment
- Supporting warehouse and operational activities
- Working with specialist equipment, ropes, cables and materials
- Assisting the wider depot and workshop teams when required
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
- Reliable and punctual
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Hands-on and practical
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Safety-conscious with a positive attitude
- Keen to learn specialist products and processes
Experience That Would Be Useful:
- Stores or warehouse experience
- Stock control or goods-in/goods-out duties
- Construction, engineering or industrial environments
- Forklift truck experience
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Plant hire or infrastructure experience
A forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
