Mobile Operative – Full Training Provided

Location: Chesterfield – UK-wide travel
Pay: £13.84 per hour during training, rising to £14.85 per hour upon successful completion.

We're recruiting for a Mobile Operative to join an established engineering business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, doesn't mind travelling and is keen to learn something new.

No specialist engineering experience is needed – full training will be provided!

What's involved?

You'll travel to customer sites across the UK, helping operate specialist machinery and equipment on a variety of engineering projects.

Every project is different, so it's a great opportunity to get out and about rather than being based in the same workplace every day.

You'll need to be comfortable working away from home, sometimes for up to 10 days at a time. Accommodation, meal allowances and travel expenses are all covered.

The role involves a mixture of day shifts, nights and weekends, depending on the project. There is no fixed shift pattern, but the company generally provides at least one week's notice of upcoming work.

You'll often work independently, so reliability, a good attitude and a willingness to get stuck in are important.

What are we looking for?

We're much more interested in your attitude and flexibility than a long list of qualifications.

The essentials are:

  • A full UK driving licence.

  • Your own car.

  • Happy to travel anywhere in the UK.

  • Comfortable staying away from home for periods of up to 10 days.

  • Flexible to work days, nights and weekends.

  • Reliable, practical and willing to learn.

Any previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, production, engineering, mechanical work or general operations would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

If you've got basic mechanical knowledge or experience using machinery, even better!
